PHOENIX — The pizza scene in the Valley is really heating up with another pizza franchise about to stake its claim.
Pasadena, Calif.-based Blaze Pizza will open its first Phoenix location this summer. Started by the Wetzel’s Pretzels duo, Blaze Pizza offers “an assembly-line approach with a build-your-own pizza menu where diners choose from a number of toppings,” according to Phoenix Business Journal. The pizza then gets “cooked to perfection” in just 180 seconds.
“One day we really wanted pizza for lunch but…a good, fresh pie takes a long time,” he said. “We ended up at Chipotle and we said, ‘Why can’t you do this in the pizza category?'” said CEO Rick Wetzel.
New Blaze Pizza franchise deals have also been announced for Dallas and Boston.
