FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Parts of northern Arizona were getting snow Wednesday.
What started out as a light snowfall in the morning turned into moderate and heavy snowfall by the mid-afternoon.
At 3:15 p.m., the National Weather Service (NWS) said the snow was producing wet and icy roads and reduced visibility along Interstate 17 from Munds Park to Flagstaff.
At 5 a.m., the NWS reported there was already a half-inch of snow on the
ground in Bellemont west of Flagstaff.
Forecasts call for accumulations of up to 1 inch at Flagstaff and the Grand Canyon’s south rim with a chance of snow showers continuing into the evening.
