PHOENIX — Arizona’s unemployment rate is down again.
The state Department of Administration reported that the state’s seasonally
adjusted unemployment rate for February was 7.3 percent.
That’s down from 7.5 percent in January and 7.6 percent in December. The rate
in February 2013 was 8 percent.
Department economists said Arizona’s economy added 17,300 nonfarm jobs in
February, an increase that’s significantly smaller than the 10-year average gain
of 26,300 jobs.
About two-thirds of the jobs added in February are in government and one-third
in the private sector.
Eight of the 11 economic sectors added jobs in February.
