PHOENIX — Authorities believed drug use was likely a factor in a Phoenix
woman’s being severely burned over half of her body in a house.
Phoenix police said a man and woman called the homeowner and later 911, saying
somebody broke into the house and set them on fire Tuesday morning.
Police said evidence found at the scene didn’t support a home invasion.
Once officers got inside the home, they reported finding evidence of possible
drug use, some illegal drugs and at least one shattered vial, possibly a pipe.

It’s unclear if the couple will face false reporting charges.
