PHOENIX — Do you want an out-of-this world experience on Friday? Head to Mesa Community College.
The school is offering its free Astronomy Nights, which happens every first Friday of the month. Friday’s show features a guided tour of the spring sky.
“We’ll be looking at the positions of Mars, Saturn, Jupiter and Venus along with deep-sky objects that are wonderful to observe if you have a small telescope,” said Melissa Bunte, MCC Astronomy Expert. “You’ll also see Orion Nebula, the Beehive Cluster, Andromeda Galaxy and an active supernova.”
The Sky of Spring show runs approximately every 30 minutes, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The last show starts at approximately 9:30 p.m.
The planetarium is located at the Physical Science Building near Dobson Rd. and Southern Ave.
Free tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 5:30 PM.
