Kingman man facing extreme DUI charge after crash

KINGMAN, Ariz. — Authorities in northwestern Arizona say a Kingman man is
facing an extreme DUI charge after his pickup truck hit a gas meter, two fences
and two parked cars before plowing into a home.

Mohave County Sheriff’s officials say 23-year-old Benjamin Hanson was
unconscious when deputies arrived at the scene of Saturday night’s accident.

They say Hanson injured his head but regained consciousness before paramedics
took him to Kingman Regional Medical Center for treatment.

He was arrested after being released from the hospital.

Investigators say Hanson was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost
control of his truck and it briefly became airborne.

Sheriff’s officials say Hanson is being held on suspicion of endangerment,
criminal damage and DUI with a blood-alcohol level over .20 percent.
