PHOENIX — Valentine’s Day weekend was a hot one — and not just for lovers.
Phoenix set a new record high for Feb. 15 with 86 on Saturday, before tying the all-time record high for Feb. 16 on Sunday with 84.
Valerie Meyers with the National Weather Service said the all-time record high for Monday is 87 and Phoenix will be within striking distance.
“Definitely if these warm temperatures continue, it will probably rank as one of the warmest Februarys that we’ve had,” Meyers said. “It’s pushing in that direction.”
Douglas, Safford, Sierra Vista, Tucson, Yuma and several other communities set new high temperature records over the weekend.
