2 injured in accident at Glendale intersection

PHOENIX — A two-vehicle collision in Glendale sent both drivers to the hospital, one in critical condition, early Tuesday morning.
The crash near 51st Avenue at Bell Road happened around 2 a.m. Phoenix Police said an SUV ran a red light going at least 80 mph and slammed into a passenger car. The impact was severe enough to scatter parts of both vehicles 100 yards across the road.
The driver of car was taken for treatment in critical condition. The driver of the SUV was in serious but stable condition.
The intersection reopened around noon.
