Phoenix teacher accused of sex with ex-students enters plea

PHOENIX — A teacher at a Phoenix high school accused of having sexual
contact with two former students on campus last year has pleaded not guilty.

Maricopa County prosecutors said 41-year-old Carlos Pineda Borja entered his
plea Monday at his arraignment. His next scheduled court date is March 27.

Borja was arrested on Jan. 23 on suspicion of two counts of sexual conduct with
a minor, one count of molestation of a child and one count of sexual abuse.

Phoenix police said Borja was still teaching at Morris K. Udall School at the
time of his arrest.

He allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with two former students on
campus during school hours during the 2012-2013 school year.

The ages of the girls haven’t been disclosed.
