PHOENIX — School wrestling teams across Arizona aren’t hitting the mat
this weekend after reports that several athletes have come down with a skin
The Arizona Interscholastic Association postponed all its sectional wrestling
tournaments, which were to take place Saturday, as a precautionary measure.
AIA officials said when the competition does resume, anyone with a suspicious
skin lesion will be prohibited from participating.
They have also called for mats to be disinfected between matches.
