Blacksmith debunks Sept. 11 truther myth in viral video

A Georgia blacksmith has had it with Sept. 11 conspiracy theorists and set the record straight in a YouTube video that has gone viral over the past several days.
In the video, the blacksmith said he is tired of the rumor perpetuated online that the World Trade Center towers could not have collapsed after being struck by two airliners because the steel used to build them would not have gotten hot enough to melt.
Jet fuel burns about 1,500 degrees, while it would take an additional 800 degrees to melt some steel.
As the smith says, this is his problem with the rumor. He readily admits the steel will not melt at that temperature, but will become extremely malleable, thus proving that angle wrong.
He then shows how strong structural steel is before heating it in a forge. When he does, the once-strong steel bends like a spaghetti noodle, though it does not melt.
In fairness, the smith said he is not out to take a side in the debate. He merely wants to prove that the fuel could have gotten hot enough to make the steel bend.
He closes the video in what we can only assume is the blacksmith’s version of a mic drop: “Get over it. Find a job.”
