Phoenix restaurant owner arrested by MCSO

PHOENIX — Authorities say the owner of two Phoenix-area restaurants and
his manager are accused of trafficking in stolen identities.

Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies say it’s the first time they’ve arrested the
owner of a business on criminal charges relating to ID theft for the purposes of
employing people who are in the country illegally.

They say Uncle Sam’s owner Bret Frimmel and manager Lisa Norton were arrested
Wednesday.

The 40-year-old Frimmel is being held on suspicion of four counts of
trafficking the identity of another, four counts of identity theft and two
counts of forgery.

The 53-year-old Norton is being held on suspicion of two counts of trafficking
the identity of another, three counts of identity theft and two counts of
forgery.

MCSO began investigating the restaurants in October 2012.
