PHOENIX — A surprise of the basketball variety awaited passengers on Southwest Airlines passengers flying out of Phoenix on Tuesday.
Phoenix Suns players Goran Dragic and Channing Frye along with head coach Jeff Hornacek and the gorilla mascot greeted fliers, accepted boarding passes and even marshaled a few airplanes out on the tarmac.
“We like to have fun and this out way of showing our fun-loving side of our business to our customers,” said Dan Landson with the airline. “We know travel can be hectic at times.”
The event went on for a couple of hours before things went back to normal.
The Suns did not have a game Tuesday but return to action Wednesday against the Pacers.
