Movies in a Minute: ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

Note: This contains no spoilers.

The movie that everyone has been freaking out about is finally here. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is out this week.

Full disclosure: I’m not a fan of the series. I saw the originals one time each and moved on with my life. I know that may seem sacrilege, but they’re just not my thing.

That being said, this is a fantastic movie. Director J.J. Abrams did a great job blending the old with the new and I think both casual fans and super geeks will like this one. You can tell he loves this franchise and wants to do right by it.

I especially liked the infusion of young talent, but one of the old stars, Harrison Ford, certainly steals the show, much like he did in the original trilogy.

My one criticism? Some of the scenes feel like you’ve seen it before, but if that’s the worst I can come up with, these guys did something right.
