PHOENIX — What’s a birthday party without horse rides? Valley horse-racing track Turf Paradise will celebrate its 58th anniversary Saturday.
Vincent Francia, the track’s general manager, said the day will include $2 beer, free hats, live music and a kids’ area with birthday cake, inflatables and face painting.
Action on the track will feature the Cotton Fitzsimmons Mile, named in honor of the former Phoenix Suns coach and avid racing fan, who passed away in 2004. His widow, JoAnn, will present the winner’s trophy.
