Most of us eat cake and ice cream on birthdays, but for one baby bear, it’s fruits and veggies that make him happy.
Luka, the Andean bear cub currently featured at the Phoenix Zoo, was treated to a special frozen confection on Jan. 3 to commemorate his first birthday.
Zoo staff created a multi-tiered cake out of blocks of ice, fruits, vegetables and other tasty treats.
The cake even had “candles” made out of bamboo and blackberries that had been frozen within the first tier.
Luka didn’t quite know what to do with the cake at first, but then mama bear Rio came over to help break it all apart.
