FLAGSTAFF — Police have identified a man whose body was found near a Flagstaff shelter.
The Arizona Daily Sun reported Saturday that police say the body of 46-year-old William Hartley was discovered outside Flagstaff Shelter Services earlier this week.
Sgt. Cory Runge says Hartley, who was homeless, died overnight Wednesday when temperatures dropped as low as 18 degrees.
Runge says an autopsy will determine if the weather factored into his death.
Lori Barlow, the shelter’s executive director, says the facility wasn’t full the night before Hartley was found and he hadn’t been turned away.
Police are still conducting interviews in connection with the case but say there are no signs of foul play.
