WB I-10 reopened after crash south of Phoenix

PHOENIX — Westbound Interstate 10 has been reopened after it closed Thursday because of a crash between Phoenix and Casa Grande, the Arizona Department of Transportation said in a release.
The crash and ensuing closure happened near the junction with State Route 387 at Sacaton Road.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said an SUV crossed the median and struck several vehicles head-on.
As a result of the closure, traffic was diverted onto SR 387. Drivers headed to Phoenix can take State Route 187 to State Route 87.
DPS said one person was hospitalized with a serious injuries. Others involved in the crash sustained non-life threatening injuries.
The roadway was reopened about 4:15 p.m.
