LISTEN: Bruce St. James compares Adolf Hitler and Donald Trump

Donald Trump’s call to ban Muslims (even American citizens, soldiers, etc.) — besides being patently illegal and unconstitutional — hearkens back to 1933 Germany and Adolf Hitler’s movement to reform post-World War I Germany.

Decent Americans cannot be silent in the face of this kind of bigotry and prejudice.

I think we have finally crossed the line from merely ignorant and false statements to outright dangerous ones. When relatively minor public figures — David Duke, George Wallace, etc. — have spewed this kind of hate, it’s been easier to dismiss them as the lunatic fringe. Now, we have the front-runner in a major political party pulling large crowds and getting standing ovations by playing to some peoples’ worst side.

Can the Republican Party afford to have Trump as its standard bearer? Is the damage already done, regardless of who gets the nomination? Will THIS be the thing to finally hurt Trump, or will it only make him stronger?

It’s time for people to wake up to the danger that is Donald Trump. What will it take for all patriotic, Constitution-loving Americans to loudly denounce and push back against the lunatic ramblings of a billionaire?
