PHOENIX — An attorney who has worked at the state Gaming Department since
2009 is the agency’s new director.
Gov. Jan Brewer promoted Daniel Bergin on Wednesday to lead the agency that
oversees the state’s tribal gaming compacts. He previously served as deputy
director managing the agency’s compliance division.
He’s been interim director since Mark Brnovich resigned in September to seek
the Republican nomination for attorney general.
Bergin previously worked as a staff attorney at Arizona State University, an
assistant attorney general and in private and corporate practice. He graduated
from ASU’s College of Law in 1988.
