Authorities arrest ASU student after finding Ecstasy ‘factory’ at apartment

PHOENIX — Arizona authorities have arrested a local college student, accusing him of manufacturing the drug Ecstasy in his off-campus apartment.
The unidentified 20-year-old Arizona State University student was initially stopped for a traffic violation on Interstate 17 near Thomas Road on Wednesday afternoon.
Department of Public Safety officers searched his car and found a backpack with pills and cocaine. Later, a home in Goodyear and his Tempe apartment were searched. At the apartment, detectives found 30 pounds of material for the making of Ecstasy.
Charges against the student include possession of marijuana, possession of a dangerous drug, manufacture of a dangerous drug and conducting an illegal enterprise.
