PHOENIX — A trailer carrying six racehorses and a semitruck collided Thursday morning, killing one horse in a west Phoenix suburb.
Neither driver was injured in the 4 a.m. accident at Interstate 10 and Miller Road in Buckeye, said a spokesman for the Department of Public Safety. The trailer of horses was en route to Turf Paradise, at 15th Avenue and Bell Road.
The crash upended the trailer, and the horses escaped. One was killed as it bolted into traffic and was hit by an SUV.
