PHOENIX — A court hearing for an ex-Phoenix lobbyist whose former clients
included the Fiesta Bowl has been delayed.
Gary Husk faces conspiracy and illegal campaign contribution charges and had a
pretrial hearing set for Monday. It’s been reset for Dec. 9.
Husk is accused of using his firm’s money to reimburse staff who made campaign
contributions to high-profile politicians. He pleaded not guilty and faces a
Husk’a lawyer Rick Romley said the indictment unsealed on Oct. 10 is an effort by
Attorney General Tom Horne to save face after failing to connect Husk to illegal
activities at the Fiesta Bowl.
The Fiesta Bowl’s former executive director and several lesser former bowl
employees have pleaded guilty to charges stemming from bowl investigations.
Husk is a former state and federal prosecutor.
