Phoenix animal rescue boasts increase of saving pets’ lives

After partnering with Maricopa County Animal Care and Control in January, HALO Animal Rescue, a no-kill animal shelter, is boasting about its new track record of saving lives.

“There’s a measurement that we watch. It’s called the live-release rate and it’s just that — how many animals are leaving the shelter alive,” explained Heather Allen of HALO.

Since the partnership, HALO has discovered that there has been a 12 percent increase in the number of animals that have been spared, which is roughly 2,000 pets.
