2 Arizona tribal officers wounded in shootout

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Federal authorities say two tribal police officers
have been wounded in an apparent shootout with a suspect in Scottsdale.

The FBI says the unidentified suspect also was wounded in Friday afternoon’s
incident on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community near Mesa Drive and Camelback.

Officials with the Phoenix office of the FBI say all three suffered non-life
threatening wounds and were transported to a Scottsdale-area area hospital.

The names of the tribal officers weren’t immediately released.

Authorities didn’t immediately release details on the shooting or why the
suspect was wanted.

FBI spokesman Manuel Johnson says the agency is investigating the incident.
