PHOENIX — It turns out running around in your underwear may actually help save lives.
The Colon Cancer Alliance is hosting its sixth Annual Undy 5000 run Saturday. The organization is trying to raise money and awareness for colorectal cancer, said Terri Baack, a spokesperson of the Colon Cancer Alliance.
“This is one of those areas where we still seem to be a little bit sensitive,” said Baack. “In order to lighten up the subject, we do this event, bringing attention to our ‘assets.'”
Colorectal cancer is the second-deadliest cancer.
The run will be begin at 1700 W. Washington St. in Phoenix at 9 a.m. Saturday.
