Arizona court upholds disbarment of ex-prosecutor

PHOENIX — The Arizona Supreme Court won’t reconsider its decision to
uphold the disbarment of an ex-Maricopa County prosecutor.

Former Deputy County Attorney Lisa Aubuchon’s (AWE’-bah-shawn) was disbarred
for her role in pushing failed investigations of public officials in court.

Last month, the state’s high court upheld the disbarment and denied Aubuchon’s
motion for reconsideration Friday.

Aubuchon appealed a disciplinary panel’s 2012 order that she be disbarred.

She and ex-County Attorney Andrew Thomas were disbarred for what the
disciplinary panel ruled was ethical misconduct during a yearslong battle with
county officials.

The disciplinary panel had said Aubuchon and Thomas knowingly filed false
bribery charges against a judge.

Thomas did not appeal his disbarment.
