PHOENIX — Officials are warning of heavy traffic in the West Valley Thursday as fans head to the Arizona Cardinals game.
“Kickoff is at 5:25 p.m., which happens to be about the time most people are getting off work, so it’s going to be heavy traffic to begin with,” said Trevor Ebersole with the city of Glendale. “[Fans should] expect a little bit of a delay as they come into the sports and entertainment district.”
The Arizona Department of Transportation said traffic will be heaviest on Interstate 10 where it meets the Loop 101 and near University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
“Pack your patience and try to arrive as early as possible to avoid any traffic delays,” said Ebersole.
Traffic was reportedly getting bogged down as early as 4 p.m. Interstate 10 experienced slowing from Elliot Road to 35th Avenue.
