SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Arizona State University President Michael Crow called the government shutdown a “thoughtless act” on Wednesday.
Crow said some members of Congress didn’t consider the implications of a shutdown for millions of people, which includes his students.
“This is no way to run a railroad,” he said. “The shutdown affects student loan processing and the ability of students to access financial aid along with research grants and activity being impacted.”
Crow said the shutdown affected everything instantly but ASU will manage to get through it.=
Crow reflected the thoughts of millions of Americans by saying something needs to be done to get our leaders more interested in the success of the nation than trying to solve one particular issue.
