PHOENIX — An overnight fire at a scrap-metal yard kept Phoenix Fire crews busy for several hours early Wednesday.
There were no injuries.
Fire Capt. Ruben Saavedra said the blaze started around 1:30 a.m. near 35st Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. A 30-foot-high stack of car parts, appliances and other debris caught fire, sending flames and dark smoke into the sky.
