Dozens of cats removed from home of Gilbert woman

PHOENIX — Dozens of cats have been removed from a Gilbert home in what
police say is a hoarding case.

Police say there were at least 28 expensive cats that Jill Hopper was breeding.

Phoenix TV station KPHO reports that two of Hopper’s
cats were in actor Denzel Washington’s movie “The Book of Eli.”

Authorities say several cats were found dead Thursday and packed in an ice

The cats reportedly were sold online, but they now are going to the Maricopa County
Animal Care and Control’s west shelter.

Police say Hopper could face multiple charges in the case.
