Pack of coyotes living in Paradise Valley wash

PHOENIX — Some residents in a Paradise Valley neighborhood are wary after
discovering a pack of coyotes is living in a nearby wash.

They dead animals have been found near the wash and that’s raising concerns for
pet owners.

Arizona Game and Fish Department officials say coyotes can lure free-roaming
dogs away from their owners to attack and bold coyotes may attack small dogs on
retractable leashes.

A wildlife and pests specialist successfully trapped one of the coyotes
Wednesday morning.

Residents tell Phoenix TV station KPHO that they are
becoming more concerned now that the wild animals are breeding and producing
pups behind their homes.

A litter of four or five pups is common for coyotes.
