PHOENIX — If you happen to cross by a fly agaric mushroom somewhere in the state, please do no eat it then and there.
In its October 2013 issue, Arizona Highways had a picture of the fly agaric and said it was edible on page 13. On Friday, Sept. 13, the magazine issued a correction to that statement.
“The fly agaric mushroom should not be consumed in its raw form because of its unpredictable psychotropic and physical effects,” the magazine stipulated on its blog.
Arizona Highways publisher Win Holden said only subscribers will see the faulty statement, and that there will be a different version of the issue when it hits newsstands.
