FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — Heavy rain has flooded local streets across central and
northern Arizona, and displaced residents on the Navajo Nation.
Tribal spokesman Erny Zah says flooding forced people in Tonalea, Chinle and

The National Weather Service had issued a flash flood watch for much of Tuesday
covering large parts of northern and central Arizona.
Meteorologist Robert Bohlin says gauges in the Yarnell Hill Fire burn area had
measured an inch of rain or more, leading to flooding on local streets.
Bohlin says scattered thunderstorms will persist Wednesday. Drier weather is
expected Thursday and into the weekend.
