PHOENIX — It’s not every day you get to have lunch with a Major League Baseball player, but a Valley father made his son’s dreams come true Friday.
“He’s one of my favorite, number one baseball players,” said twelve-year-old Alejandro Palomera.
The quiet King’s Ridge Prep and Academy student was the center of attention at lunch when the longest-tenured member of the Arizona Diamondbacks, catcher Miguel Montero, paid him a visit.
“These will be our fans for a long time. It’s fun to be here, spend time with them and get to know them,” said Montero.
Gilbert Palomera won the chance for his son to bring the player to school by purchasing dairy products at Fry’s during the D-backs’ school promotion.
