PHOENIX — A Phoenix intersection will likely be closed during rush hour after a fatal collision, police said.
About 1 p.m., a red Dodge Charger slammed into a green passenger car in the intersection of Indian School Road and 43rd Avenue.
Two women were killed in the collision.
“Due to the mechanics of the collisions, we have Indian School and 43rd Avenue — the entire intersection — shut down in all four directions,” said Phoenix Police Sgt. Trent Crump. “We are expecting that closure to be in place through rush hour so it’s going to create a lot of inconvenience for those who live and work in this area.”
Crump said the driver displayed signs of impairment and was under police supervision at a local hospital.
