PHOENIX – A man is in critical condition after striking a median and losing control of his truck in North Phoenix. The incident happened just before 4 a.m. Saturday near Cave Creek Road and Ashler Hills Drive.
The 48-year-old man was driving a Ford pickup northbound on Cave Creek Road when he struck the center-raised median and lost control of the truck. The vehicle collided with a tree in the median, then crossed back over both northbound lanes before rolling and striking a boulder next to the road, according to Sgt. Tommy Thompson with the Phoenix Police Department.
The driver of the truck was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital where he is in extremely critical condition. Nobody else was in the vehicle.
