Police clock Arizona motorcyclist at 114 mph

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Glendale police say they clocked a motorcyclist going
114 mph in a construction zone Wednesday morning.

The motorcyclist was late for work.

Police arrested 21-year-old Troy Johnson on several misdemeanor traffic

Officer Robert Solis says he could hear Johnson approaching in the 4500 block
of Northwest Grand Avenue around 8:40 a.m. Solis used his speed measuring device
to see how fast Johnson was going.

Solis says when Johnson was told he was going 85 mph over the speed limit, the
motorcyclist had no recollection of ever going that fast.

Solis says Johnson also told him he was 30 minutes late for work.

Johnson was wearing a helmet, but police say he was not licensed to ride a
