PHOENIX — When it comes to food, the Valley is apparently pretty out there.
According to the Huffington Post, Phoenix’s menus contain the fifth-most “extreme” food words in the nation, at least on the menus posted to GrubHub, an online menu and ordering service.
The website also created a list of the most common “extreme” food terms. Topping the rankings are “smothered,” “giant,” “best,” “monster” and the ultimate winner, “jumbo,” which is used to describe more than 15,000 menu items on GrubHub.
Men are 69 percent more likely to order food with “extreme” descriptions.
Overall, the city with the most use of “extreme” terms was Detroit, followed by Lansing, Mich., Columbus and Denver, respectively.
