PHOENIX — President Barack Obama was given a happy greeting at a Valley high school before he gave a speech on the nation’s housing market.

Students at Desert Vista High School in Phoenix sang “Happy Birthday” to the president, who turned 52 on Sunday.

Obama is proposing to overhaul the nation’s mortgage finance system, including shutting down government-backed Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac- a plan with bipartisan support on Capitol Hill.
