PHOENIX — Police said there is no evidence that people selling books door-to-door in Gilbert have committed any crimes.
A tipster on KTAR’s Facebook page said that the salespeople with “heavy accents” were not selling books but looking to kidnap young girls and force them into sex trafficking.
Gilbert Police Officer Jesse Sanger said his department received several calls about the individuals and investigated.
There was no evidence found that the salespeople were doing anything illegal and had a permit from Gilbert to sell books door-to-door. Sanger also said his department had not received any reports of criminal activity.
