Midwestern University hosts medical camp in Valley

PHOENIX — Midwestern University has given 50 high school students the chance to be doctors for a week by simulating labs and hospital scenarios at locations around the Valley.

This week the teens have been able to simulate drawing blood, scrub-in on surgeries and dental procedures, learn about sports vision therapy and visit the hospital.

On Friday, they participated in a three-and-a-half hour lab at MWU, which was opened to public viewing.

On the final day of the week-long camp, the students will work with the Glendale Fire Department for a mock drill.

MWU has been hosting the camp for years in order to give teens a better idea of what medical field they would like to pursue.
