PHOENIX — Sky Harbor’s 101-day streak without rainfall is over.
Valerie Meyers with the National Weather Service said the official Valley rain gauge had measurable moisture overnight for the first time since April 8.
“Three-hundredths of an inch of rain fell just after midnight because of a large area of showers that moved through the Phoenix metropolitan area,” she said.
The record streak without rainfall at Sky Harbor is 160 days set in 1972.
Meyers said there is a good chance of thunderstorms today into the weekend.
