PHOENIX — A brush fire closed State Route 87 south of Payson, Ariz., on Wednesday, the Arizona Department of Transportation said in a press release.
The highway was closed between the Bush Highway and the junction with State Route 188.
Drivers seeking to avoid the closure are advised to take the US 60 east to SR 188 north to reconnect with SR 87.
There was no timetable to reopen the highway.
Glendale officials welcomed a newly updated courthouse, as city leaders cut the ribbon at the public service building.
