Yarnell residents allowed to return home Monday

YARNELL — Beginning at 9:00 a.m. Monday, residents displaced by the Yarnell Hill wildfire will be allowed to return home, according to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.

Yarnell residents will be the only individuals allowed back into the community.

According to a press release from the YCSO, each adult in a returning vehicle will need to present identification to gain access to the area. Acceptable identification includes an Arizona driver or ID card with physical address, a utility bill with physical address, phone bill with physical address, vehicle insurance card or vehicle registration.

While residents will be allowed to return home, State Route 89 will remain closed to allow for limited access for residents and service organizations.

State Route 89 has been closed since June 30.
