PHOENIX — According to the Department of Transportation, the wildfire that has the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office advising evacuations in the Town of Yarnell also had closed about 15 miles of State Route 89.
The route is currently closed just north of Congress to south of Kirkland, from milepost 269 to milepost 285.
If drivers are going north or southbound US State Route 89, ADOT has suggested using US 93 or Interstate 17 as alternate routes.
There is no estimated time for the route to reopen.
