Report: Pinal County dept. like ‘Animal House’

FLORENCE, Ariz. — Three Pinal County employees have been placed on leave
after a report detailed that the county’s public works department was out of
control and employees’ behavior resembled “Animal House.”

The Casa Grande Dispatch reports that an investigation
by Phoenix-based Synergy Seven Inc. found that the department was plagued by
unproductive employees, corrupt management, abuse of county resources, improper
hiring practices, phone calls going unanswered, kids running around the office,
and falsification of time sheets.

The newspaper says one county employee used the phrase that it was “like
`Animal House’ over there,” to describe the department.

“Animal House” was a 1978 comedy about a group of rowdy fraternity members.

Assistant County Manager of Development Services Greg Stanley, Public Works
Director A.J. Blaha and Business Manager Tina Lawson are on leave.
