SALT LAKE CITY — Officials are imposing campfire restrictions on parts of
Utah and Arizona that are under a red-flag wildfire warning.
Starting Thursday, federal and state officials say they will impose the
restrictions on public lands in southern Utah and northern Arizona.
Fireworks and welding are also banned. Smoking is prohibited outside buildings
People can use campfire pits or grills at developed camping areas.
The restrictions cover five counties of southwest Utah, the Dixie National
Forest, Zion and Bryce national parks, Cedar Breaks National Monument, the Glen
Canyon National Recreation Area, the Arizona Strip and the Pipe Spring National
