Arizona man sentenced for child abuse, drug charges

PHOENIX — A Sun City man arrested with his wife after methamphetamine labs were found in their home has been sentenced to 7.5 years in prison.

Maricopa County prosecutors say 29-year-old Lancelot Lipe was sentenced Thursday.

He had earlier pleaded guilty to child abuse and drug charges.

Lipe and his 36-year-old wife Brenda were arrested in April after county sheriff’s deputies say they discovered two active meth labs in the couple’s home.

They say one lab was inside the house and the other was in the garage.

The couple’s three daughters — ages 6 to 15 — were turned over to state Child Protective Services.

Brenda Lipe pleaded guilty to child abuse last month. Prosecutors say she’s scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 7.
