2 who died in Phoenix plane crash are identified

PHOENIX — Two employees of a hot air balloon company were among four
people killed last week when two small planes collided in mid-air and crashed in
the north Phoenix desert.

Hot Air Expeditions announced Wednesday that its president Margie Long and
project manager Carl Prince were aboard a training flight last Friday.

Their small plane crashed 15 miles northwest of Deer Valley Airport along with
a single-engine aircraft from TransPac Aviation Academy. That’s a school for
commercial pilots in north Phoenix.

TransPac officials say two of its flight instructors were killed in the crash _
37-year-old Paul Brownell and 26-year-old Basil Onuferko.

Phoenix TV station KTVK says the 43-year-old Prince was
an FAA-certified fixed wing pilot.

KTVK says Prince had been providing flight instruction to the 59-year-old Long
since August.
